# Apex — Motorsport Stats & Timing App

## Goal
Design and build "Apex", a motorsport stats & timing app. Feel: pit-wall professionalism — dense data, zero clutter; feels like race engineering software for fans. Every screen should feel native-quality — fluid, tactile, zero jank.

## Visual Language
- **Palette**: carbon black #0B0C0E base, signal green #00E5A0 for fastest deltas, magenta #F43F7A for session-best, amber for cautions; high-contrast timing text
- **Type scale**: large title 32-34px bold, section header 20px semibold, body 16-17px, caption 13px.
- **Surfaces**: layered backgrounds (base / elevated card / sheet), 20px card radius, subtle 1px hairline separators.
- **Iconography**: consistent 24px stroke icons, 1.75px stroke weight.

## Screens
1. **Live board** — position tower: 20 rows with driver initials, gap intervals updating, tire-compound chips; top-3 podium strip with animated position swaps.
2. **Driver detail** — lap-time trace chart vs teammate, sector splits in three colored segments, stint history bars.
3. **Session center** — practice/quali/race tabs, weather strip (track temp / wind), countdown to lights out.
4. **Standings** — championship tables with animated point counters and trend arrows.
5. **Alerts** — custom notification rules (overtake / fastest lap / safety car) as toggleable chips.

## Interactions & Motion
- Position swap: rows animate to new slots with a 300ms spring; the overtake flashes a thin green edge.
- Lap trace draws in left-to-right; pinch to zoom the x-axis; long-press for crosshair with both drivers' times.
- Sector segments fill with color as a lap completes — micro-delight on every lap.
- Pull the live board down to reveal 'last lap events' ticker.
- Spring physics for all transitions (stiffness ~260, damping ~24); never linear easing.
- Skeleton loaders for every async surface; optimistic UI for user actions.

## Details That Matter
- Timing text uses tabular figures at 13-15px; rows stay 44px minimum for touch.
- Battery-saver mode: reduce update polling and disable chart animations.
## Tech & Quality Bar
- React Native + Expo + TypeScript (or Flutter if requested). Reanimated for 60fps gestures.
- Dark & light mode from a single token file. Safe-area aware on all screens.
- Haptics on key confirmations. Offline-tolerant: cache last data, show stale-while-revalidate.
